Our Professional Development courses include a social and cultural programme designed to help you connect with your fellow students and learn more about this lovely part of the world – Galway and the Wild Atlantic Way.
Sunday Excursions
The course fee includes a group excursion to one of the Galway beauty spots below.
You can choose your preferred destination when booking your course via the online Registration Form. Tour tickets will be emailed to you before you arrive in Galway, so you are ready to enjoy your tour on the Sunday before the start of your course.
Tours are led by our long-term partners, Galway Tour Company and Aran Island Ferries, who have many years of experience guiding thousands of visitors through some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland’s Atlantic coast.

Walking Tour of Galway City
On Monday afternoon, join an experienced guide on a walking tour through the streets of Medieval Galway, learning all about the colourful history and rich culture of the city.
Afternoon Workshops
Enjoy relaxed, interactive workshops dedicated to ‘boosting’ key skills such as pronunciation or use of idioms, and ‘Irish Culture’ seminars exploring topics such as Irish music, history or popular culture.
Pub Social + Networking Evening
Gather with your fellow students to enjoy an evening at one of Galway’s famous music pubs, where you can listen to a traditional Irish music session and sample some Guinness alongside the locals! This is an excellent opportunity to share experiences and make connections with fellow Erasmus+ participants from educational institutions from all over Europe.
