COURSE OUTLINE

General English + 5 One-to-Ones  allows you to combine group General English classes in the morning with one hour of private tuition with an Atlantic teacher each afternoon from Monday to Friday. Lively group classes and customised one-to-one lessons will help you to meet your personal learning needs. This dual focused course gives you extra time to develop your English fluency. Individual classes allow you to concentrate on the skills you need to improve, while group sessions provide lots of opportunity to practice communicating with classmates. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Learn effective English using the most up to date techniques and materials
  • Develop all key linguistic skills including reading, writing and listening
  • Practice communication skills through role-plays, pair work, group discussions
  • Focus on personal linguistic or professional needs through one-to-one lessons with private tutor
  • Enjoy the opportunity to explore special areas of interest in private lessons

DAY BY DAY PROGRAMME**

SUNDAY*
Full-day excursion to a Wild Atlantic Way destination such as Aran Islands, Connemara or Cliffs of Moher

Welcome Class – Group lesson at your English language level with mixed nationality class                                                 Speaking & Vocabulary

  • Topic-based discussions (everyday life, work, travel, global issues).

  • Roleplays/debates to build fluency.

  • Vocabulary expansion with collocations & idiomatic expressions.

  • Private One to One Afternoon Lesson with a Teacher tailored to your needs.

  • Walking Tour of Galway.

Reading & Critical Thinking

  • Guided reading (graded readers, news articles, short stories).

  • Comprehension & discussion of key themes.

  • Skimming/scanning practice & vocabulary in context

  • Private One to One Afternoon Lesson with a Teacher tailored to your needs.

  • Join a Pub night and meet others while speaking English in an informal setting.

WEDNESDAY

Grammar & Writing

  • Guided lesson on a  grammar point relevant to level

  • Controlled practice → free writing tasks (emails, essays, reports).

  • Peer correction & teacher feedback.

  • Private One to One Afternoon Lesson with a Teacher, tailored to your needs

Listening & Comprehension

  • Audio/video practice (conversations, interviews, podcasts, lectures).

  • Listening for gist & detail.

  • Summarising orally or in writing to reinforce accuracy

  • Private One to One Afternoon Lesson with a Teacher tailored to your needs.

Integrated Skills & Project Work

  • Group project or presentation (weekly theme-based).

  • Integrating listening, speaking, reading & writing.

  • Review of the week + personalised feedback

  • Receive access to self-study materials to continue to practice and build your English Language level.

  • Private One to One Afternoon Lesson with a Teacher tailored to your needs.
