COURSE OUTLINE

This One-to-One / Individual Tuition Course at Atlantic Centre of Education is tailored to each learner’s goals and objectives. Before the course begins, we will conduct a learning needs and objectives assessment alongside our standard level test. Our trainers will work with you to design classes to suit your personal or professional needs – whether you are preparing for an important work event, studying for an exam, building a specialist vocabulary, or simply working to improve your general English knowledge. The focused attention and customized practice of a one-to-one course will help you to see faster progress in your language learning.  

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Build confidence and fluency with more personal speaking time.
  • Enjoy real-time correction and immediate feedback.

DAY BY DAY PROGRAMME**

SUNDAY*
Full-day excursion to Wild Atlantic Way destination such as Aran Islands, Connemara or Cliffs of Moher
  • Speaking & Interaction
    Needs analysis (first session), warm-up conversation, setting goals, discussing everyday topics (e.g., travel, hobbies, work).
  • Grammar & Accuracy
    Review key tense contrasts (present simple vs continuous, past forms, etc.); level-appropriate exercises and mini-dialogues.
  • Vocabulary Development
    Topic-based vocabulary; lexical sets, collocations, and word-building tasks.
  • Listening Skills
    Listening to short audios or videos (graded by level); practice predicting content and summarizing key ideas.
    Speaking Practice
  • Focus on fluency and pronunciation—role-plays, discussions, or problem-solving tasks.
    Language Focus
  • Grammar/vocabulary follow-up based on errors or new input from listening/speaking tasks.
WEDNESDAY
  • Reading Skills
    Reading authentic or graded texts (articles, short stories, news); focus on gist, detail, and inference.
  • Writing Skills
    Writing task linked to reading (e.g., summary, opinion paragraph, email); feedback and correction.
  • Functional Language
    Practicing useful expressions: making suggestions, agreeing/disagreeing, giving opinions.
  • Integrated Skills
    Project-based activity (e.g., planning a trip, preparing a presentation, or analyzing a topic).
  • Speaking/Presentation Practice
    Student presents ideas or project; teacher gives feedback on content, pronunciation, and accuracy
  • Listening/Reading Extension
    Input related to project topic; focus on higher-order comprehension and vocabulary
  • Revision & Feedback
    Review of the week’s language points and vocabulary through games or quizzes
  • Speaking Fluency Practice
    Extended discussion or role-play covering the week’s themes; feedback on fluency and accuracy
  • Writing or Assessment Task
    Reflective journal, written summary, or mini test; goal review and plan for next week

**Please Note: this is a sample programme based on probable content but may differ based on the teacher’s preference or objectives. 

*Get the most out of your experience! When booking your course you can opt for a full-day Sunday excursion to the Aran Islands, Connemara or the Cliffs of Moher.
